New seafood steakhouse concept joins West Oaks Mall lineup
West Oaks Mall has reeled in a new tenant.
A concept called Bates New England Seafood & Steakhouse is completing construction on a new 250-seat restaurant expected to bring an “authentic New England ambience” to the Ocoee mall.
The new restaurant will feature a meat case to display its steaks, poultry and other products, as well as having a live lobster tank.
This is the third large tenant to be announced at the mall in the last year, kickstarted by the huge revamp of the former Sears into a 70,000-square-foot SunPass Centralized Customer Service Center run by Xerox Corp. (NYSE: XRX), which created 500 jobs, as previously reported by Orlando Business Journal.
A new GameTime family entertainment center also is in the works at the mall, as previously reported by OBJ.
“Since Xerox opened for business, traffic to the mall has continued to increase, leading to significant demand from restaurants and entertainment tenants,” said Shawl Pryor, senior vice president of mall owner Moonbeam Capital Investments, in a prepared statement. “We are excited that Bates New England Seafood & Steakhouse has chosen West Oaks Mall. Bates provides a much-needed addition to the dining and entertainment options available to the community.”
The new tenants add more to Moonbeam Capital Investments’ plan to recreate the mall into more of a mixed-use complex.
